UX Designer, Agentic Applications

We're hiring a UX Designer, Agentic Applications for a professional services firm with 60+ years of experience delivering accounting, tax, and advisory services across government, healthcare, franchise, and construction sectors.

Position Summary

The UX Designer will be responsible for designing new interfaces to software that enables seamless end-user experiences and utilizes new frameworks, capabilities, and tools. This role will place particular emphasis on designing intuitive generative AI and agentic application experiences, including interfaces that help users understand agent goals, monitor progress, review recommendations, approve or override actions, recover from errors, and build trust in AI-assisted workflows. You will collaborate with relevant business and technology partners across the firm to lead human-centered design for new digital applications using the latest tools and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

The UX Designer job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Create new concept sketches, wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes for proposed software
• Develop visually appealing designs that align with the brand identity and user expectations (e.g. color palettes, typography, and graphics) to create an engaging user interface.
• Participate in planning, research, design and testing of new applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and release new features.
• Partner with product management to design personalized UX for our clients’ needs.
• Design intuitive generative AI interfaces that support natural language interaction, prompt refinement, source review, confidence indicators, structured outputs, and clear next-best actions for users.
• Create UX patterns for agentic applications that make autonomy levels, agent plans, tool use, task status, handoffs, and decision boundaries visible and understandable to business users.
• Design human-in-the-loop review, approval, pause, resume, override, and escalation experiences for AI agents operating in enterprise or client-facing workflows.
• Translate complex AI capabilities into simple interaction models, onboarding flows, feedback loops, error recovery paths, and trust-building design patterns that promote responsible user adoption.
• Partner with developers and engineers to relay functional needs of the UX.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Provide tech feasibility feedback and propose alternate solution designs to PMs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships and feedback loops with leaders and stakeholders.
• Communicate progress to appropriate stakeholders in a clear, accurate, and timely manner
• Ability to think outside of the box
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, commitments and projects using an Agile approach
• Other tasks that may be required to complete project requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3 years of experience delivering interface design solutions for various clients or stakeholders
• 2 years of experience demonstrating proficiency or expertise in relevant professional design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (with an emphasis on XD), or InVision
• 2 years of demonstrating experience with user research and usability testing
• Experience designing interfaces for AI-enabled, generative AI, or agentic applications, including conversational interfaces, workflow assistants, or decision-support tools.
• Demonstrated ability to design for transparency, user control, approval workflows, feedback capture, error recovery, and usability in AI-assisted experiences.
• Experience in cloud-based solutions using a leading provider (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Strong problem-solving skills with experience exercising mature judgment
• Able to work independently and in team environments
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in responsive design and building mobile-first applications
• Experience building AI-embedded software applications
• Experience designing agentic UX patterns such as autonomy mode selection, agent activity timelines, explainability panels, source attribution, confidence cues, human-in-the-loop approvals, and rollback or correction flows.
• Familiarity with responsible AI, human-centered AI, accessibility, privacy, and governance considerations as they apply to generative AI and AI agent interfaces.
• Experience within low code/no code platforms
• Knowledge of Section 508 & Accessibility compliance
• Ability to provide clear, articulate rationale for design choices and approach
• Experience working within Agile environment
