We're hiring an Automotive Camera Software Application Engineer for a global semiconductor company delivering advanced software solutions for automotive SoCs with high safety and security to automotive manufacturers and in-vehicle ECU suppliers.

About the role

In this role, you will serve as the technical interface between cutting-edge automotive SoC platforms and Japanese OEM and ECU customers, providing software support, framework evaluation, and solution engineering to accelerate their advanced automotive system development.

This position centers on camera software frameworks and ISP pipelines — evaluating maturity, usability, and performance — as well as the broader automotive software stack covering high-function OSes (QNX, Linux), real-time OSes, hypervisors, middleware, functional safety, and security. You will lead improvement proposals to internal design teams and customers, drive the creation of application notes, and build competitive application demos that support product promotion and new business development.

We are looking for an experienced application engineer with 5+ years of hands-on CMOS camera and ISP software experience and 5+ years of ARM SoC software development in C, with a track record of solving complex software and system-level challenges in automotive, computing, robotics, or industrial environments.

This role offers the chance to work at the frontier of automotive computing — directly shaping how next-generation Software-Defined Vehicle platforms are built and optimized around camera and perception systems. Your work will improve platform maturity, raise software usability, and accelerate adoption of safety-critical imaging solutions across the Japanese market.

Responsibilities

Understand customer needs for Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV) and provide technical support for software and development environments, performance improvements, and other solutions as an Application Engineer to accelerate advanced automotive system development for Japanese customers
Evaluate the maturity and usability of camera software frameworks (including ISP) and lead improvement proposals to customers and internal design teams
Lead the creation of application notes aimed at providing a software platform environment that is easy for customers to use
Collaborate with Sales, FAE, Product Marketing, and Systems Engineers to lead the development of competitive application demos, supporting product promotion and new business development
Stay current on the latest technology trends in high-function OSes (QNX, Linux), real-time OSes, hypervisors, middleware, functional safety, and security solutions, and lead solution proposals that outperform competitors

Qualifications

Required

5+ years of experience in software implementation, evaluation, and debugging for CMOS camera and ISP systems
5+ years of experience in software programming (C language) and technical support for ARM SoC products
A challenger mindset focused on creating value for customers
Experience in automotive, computing servers, robotics, or industrial sectors

Preferred

Knowledge of ADAS systems (Front Camera, Surround View Systems)
