HPC SoC IP Development Program Manager

Japan

Engineering – Software Engineer / Full-Time / On-Site

Apply for this job

We're hiring an HPC SoC IP Development Program Manager for a global semiconductor company developing flagship automotive SoCs — large-scale chips integrating CPU, cache, memory, high-speed interfaces, AI, video, functional safety, and security — powering the intelligence and electrification of next-generation vehicles.

About the role

We are seeking a Senior SoC IP Development Program Manager to support the development of next-generation automotive SoCs powering advanced vehicle intelligence and electrification.

Modern automotive SoCs integrate a wide range of complex technologies, including CPU subsystems, cache and memory architectures, high-speed interfaces, AI accelerators, video processing, functional safety, and security features. Managing the development and integration of these IPs requires strong technical understanding, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to coordinate multiple teams and development locations.

As part of the R-Car SoC development organization, you will play a key role in connecting IP development teams, identifying cross-project dependencies, managing technical risks, and enabling predictable execution across global development programs.

This role is ideal for an experienced semiconductor professional who can bridge engineering teams, program management, and technical decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Drive cross-functional program management across multiple SoC IP development projects.
  • Collaborate closely with IP development teams to understand technical progress, milestones, risks, dependencies, and challenges.
  • Identify issues impacting schedule, quality, performance, or integration and coordinate resolution with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support decision-making by providing visibility into cross-IP dependencies and project trade-offs.
  • Coordinate with global engineering teams in Japan and overseas locations, including India and Vietnam.
  • Establish effective communication channels between architecture, design, verification, validation, and project management teams.
  • Improve development processes and methodologies to increase predictability and execution efficiency.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Must Have

  • Practical experience working across multiple semiconductor, SoC, or IP development projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating technical activities among different engineering teams and organizations.
  • Ability to understand SoC/IP development flows, including design, verification, integration, and evaluation.
  • Experience identifying technical risks, dependencies, and execution challenges in complex engineering programs.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence participating in technical discussions in English.
  • Business-level Japanese communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a Program Manager, Technical Program Manager, or Project Manager in semiconductor or SoC development.
  • Experience managing large-scale SoC programs involving multiple IP blocks.
  • Knowledge of IP integration, SoC architecture, RTL design, verification, or silicon validation processes.
  • Experience balancing priorities, schedules, technical constraints, and quality requirements.
  • Experience collaborating with global engineering organizations.
  • Experience improving semiconductor development processes.
