We're hiring an HPC Quality Leader for the Automotive SoC (R‑Car) Design Team for a global semiconductor company developing flagship automotive SoCs — large-scale chips integrating CPU, cache, memory, high-speed interfaces, AI, video, functional safety, and security — powering the intelligence and electrification of next-generation vehicles.

About the role

As automotive SoCs become more sophisticated and larger in scale, design quality has become a crucial factor in determining product competitiveness.

The R-Car series involves the highly integrated development of diverse IPs, including CPU, high-speed interfaces, memory, AI/video, and functional safety. Therefore, consistently improving the design's completeness as an organization is more important than ever.

In this environment, it is essential for the entire design team to share a common quality perspective and continuously improve quality from the early stages of development. For this reason, the role of a quality leader who can organize and complement design content and development processes from a quality perspective, and lead the entire development process from a quality standpoint, is becoming increasingly important.

Therefore, their department is seeking a quality leader who can work collaboratively with the design team to raise the overall quality of the SoC, without being limited to specific IPs or functions. They expect you to contribute to improving the overall quality of the SoC while working closely with the design team.

Responsibilities

In the automotive SoC (R-Car series) design team, I played the role of a quality leader who organized and complemented design quality across the board.
Rather than focusing on specific IPs or functions, we will take a comprehensive view of the entire SoC and organize and examine the design content and development process from a quality and risk perspective.
They participate in design reviews and technical discussions, clarifying issues and sharing insights from a quality and risk perspective, and supporting design decisions.
This role involves addressing bugs and development challenges by analyzing their causes and background, and considering strategies to prevent recurrence, thereby advancing development.
We collaborate with design centers and stakeholders both domestically and internationally, promoting development globally, including technical meetings and specification confirmations conducted in English.

Qualifications

【MUST】

I have experience in SoC or semiconductor design and development, where I have been involved in reviewing the design content and development process from a quality and risk perspective.
I have experience in providing feedback and suggestions regarding quality and risks through design reviews and technical discussions.
I have experience in continuously being involved in identifying the causes and background of defects and development challenges, and in considering measures to prevent recurrence.
As a member of the design team, I have experience playing a role in driving development while incorporating a quality perspective.
No aversion to technical meetings and specification confirmations in English.

【WANT】

Experience in semiconductor design and development, including design quality, defect analysis, and recurrence prevention studies.
Experience in conducting studies and reviews using analytical methods related to cause analysis and recurrence prevention.
Experience participating in design and quality reviews in SoC, IP, or subsystem development.
Experience in cross-functional quality activities in collaboration with functional safety (FuSa), reliability, and quality assurance departments.
Experience in developing and improving design quality guidelines, checklists, and standardization documents.
Japanese: Communication level
