An early-stage, AI-first fintech startup is building an end-to-end platform to modernize mortgage origination for independent brokers. The product uses AI agents, intelligent document processing, and workflow automation to replace fragmented, manual processes and help brokers close loans faster.

This is a highly hands-on, zero-to-one opportunity to work directly with founders whose backgrounds include Microsoft, Deutsche Bank, Cornell, Columbia, KKR, and Motive Partners. You will help shape the core product, technical architecture, and engineering culture from the ground up.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and curious full-stack software engineer who thrives in an ambiguous, fast-moving startup environment.

You will work directly with the founders to design and build intelligent systems that automate complex real-world workflows. The role includes AI agent development, document processing, backend integrations, infrastructure, and scalable software engineering.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop AI agents that automate key steps in the mortgage origination process.
Build systems for complex document understanding, data extraction, and workflow orchestration.
Develop APIs and integrations with lenders, brokers, and data platforms.
Contribute to backend architecture, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
Agentic / LLM evaluation frameworks.
Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate alongside the founding team.
Take ownership of projects from research to production.

Qualifications:

Strong programming skills (Python, Typescript).
Familiarity with AI frameworks.
Understanding of cloud infrastructure.
Ability to self-learn and operate independently while seeking guidance when needed.
Comfort working in an unstructured, early-stage startup environment.

Preferred Experience:

Experience building enterprise-grade platforms and services in regulated industries.
Prior exposure to AI/ML, NLP, or automation projects.
Experience with backend systems, workflow automation, and integrations.
Interest in fintech, real estate, or data-driven product development.

The founding team comes from organizations like Microsoft, Deutsche Bank, Cornell, Columbia, and investing experience at KKR and Motive Partners (Fintech).
