Clock and Reset system or PAD design leader for automotive SoC design

Japan

Engineering – Software Engineer / Full-Time / Hybrid

Apply for this job

We're hiring a Design Leader for Clock/Reset or PAD specification and circuit design for automotive SoC (R-Car Series) — products at the center of the shift toward vehicle electrification and intelligence, where the demands on frequency, power consumption, and multi-customer pin control are among the most stringent in the industry.

About the role

The R-Car Series has evolved into a large-scale SoC that highly integrates numerous IPs — CPU, high-speed interfaces, memory, AI/video, functional safety, and security. Making that work means precise clock control, reset control, and power control within the SoC are absolutely essential. And pin control that satisfies requirements from multiple customers makes thorough consideration at the specification stage critically important.

Our division owns the core components of automotive SoC product development. In this role, you'll lead the design of Clock/Reset circuits or PAD (LSI pins) and function selection circuits — and you'll do it from concept through to execution, working alongside logic design and verification teams on systems built for autonomous driving and driving comfort.

What you'll work on

  • Clock control / reset / power control mechanisms and their peripheral circuits
  • PAD (LSI pins) and function selection circuits

We're looking for engineers ready to tackle world-class SoC design challenges and compete on the global stage with cutting-edge technology.

Responsibilities

  • Translating requirements into concrete concepts and targets
  • Grand design of functional and verification strategies
  • Grand design of DFT (Design for Test) and test strategies
  • Planning of characterization and evaluation strategies
  • Technical leadership of logic design and verification teams

Qualifications

Required
  • 3+ years of experience in clock, reset, or power control development in digital front-end design, OR experience in PAD (pin) design and function selection circuits
  • Experience in digital circuit design and verification
  • English communication skills
  • Experience working in a Linux environment
Preferred
  • Experience with logic synthesis
  • Experience with timing design and creation of timing constraints

Additional Information

  • Location: Kodaira, Tokyo, Japan
  • Work Model: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
  • Open to relocation: This role is open to candidates located anywhere who are open to relocating to Japan
