BI Developer for Agentic Platform

We're hiring a BI Developer for Agentic Platform for a professional services firm with 60+ years of experience delivering accounting, tax, and advisory services across government, healthcare, franchise, and construction sectors.

Our client is seeking a BI Developer to design, build, and embed high-impact Power BI reports and dashboards within their agentic platform user experience. This role will translate inputs from traditional analytics data stores, operational systems, and AI-generated signals into clear, actionable, and intuitive visual experiences. The ideal candidate brings strong business intelligence development skills, a sharp understanding of data visualization, and the ability to create reporting experiences that help users interpret AI touchpoints, agent activity, workflow performance, and business outcomes.

Our client is a leading accounting and consulting firm and seeks an experienced BI Developer to help deliver embedded analytics for their next-generation agentic AI platform. This role will develop Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and embedded analytics experiences that combine structured enterprise data with AI-derived insights, recommendations, and interaction data. The BI Developer will work closely with product, UX, data engineering, AI engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure reporting is accurate, secure, visually compelling, and seamlessly integrated into the platform experience.

Power BI Embedded Reporting & Dashboard Development

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI reports, dashboards, and tiles embedded directly into the agentic platform user experience.
• Build reporting experiences that allow users to understand business performance, agent activity, AI recommendations, workflow status, and outcome trends without leaving the platform.
• Partner with UX and product teams to ensure embedded analytics are intuitive, actionable, visually consistent, and aligned to the platform's user journeys.
• Develop Power BI assets using strong report design, semantic modeling, DAX, data storytelling, and visualization best practices.

Analytics Data Integration

• Integrate data from traditional analytics data stores, including enterprise data warehouses, lakehouses, relational databases, curated data marts, and operational reporting sources.
• Incorporate AI-generated inputs such as agent outputs, confidence scores, feedback signals, prompt and response metadata, usage telemetry, and exception patterns into reporting models.
• Collaborate with data engineering and AI platform teams to define reliable data contracts, refresh patterns, data quality checks, and lineage for BI consumption.
• Create semantic models that make complex AI and analytics data understandable, trustworthy, and reusable across business reporting use cases.

Visualization for AI Touchpoints

• Design visuals that clearly represent AI touchpoints, including agent recommendations, human approvals, escalations, exceptions, feedback loops, and model-assisted decisions.
• Translate AI-generated signals into executive, operational, and user-level dashboards that clarify what happened, why it matters, and what action should follow.
• Apply strong visualization judgment to select the right visuals, interaction patterns, drill-through paths, filters, and contextual narratives for each audience.
• Ensure dashboards support both traditional KPI monitoring and emerging AI oversight needs such as adoption, accuracy, reliability, compliance, and user trust.

Embedded Analytics Integration

• Work with front-end, platform, and engineering teams to embed Power BI content into the platform UX using secure, scalable embedded analytics patterns.
• Support integration patterns for embedded reports and dashboards, including authentication, row-level security, workspace organization, capacity considerations, and application-level navigation.
• Build reporting experiences that feel native to the platform rather than disconnected BI artifacts.
• Coordinate with product and UX teams to align report placement, filters, interactions, and visual hierarchy to user workflows.
• Monitor report adoption, performance, usability, and data trust signals to continuously improve the embedded analytics experience.

BI Model Development and Data Quality

• Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models, measures, calculated columns, dataflows, and datasets that support scalable reporting across platform use cases.
• Create clear data definitions, metric logic, and dashboard documentation so business users understand what each measure represents.
• Validate report outputs against source systems, AI logs, and business rules to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Optimize models and reports for performance, refresh reliability, usability, and maintainability.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with product owners, UX designers, AI engineers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to define reporting requirements and translate them into usable BI products.
• Facilitate conversations that clarify KPI definitions, AI signal interpretation, dashboard intent, and user decision points.
• Create prototypes, wireframes, and report mockups to validate the reporting experience before full build-out.
• Communicate complex data and AI-driven insights in a way that is practical, concise, and accessible to non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and enterprise BI assets.
• Strong proficiency with DAX, Power Query, data modeling, visualization design, report performance optimization, and Power BI publishing workflows.
• Experience embedding Power BI or other analytics content into web applications, portals, or product experiences.
• Ability to work with data from warehouses, lakehouses, relational databases, APIs, logs, telemetry streams, and curated analytics stores.
• Strong understanding of KPI design, metric definition, data storytelling, dashboard usability, and executive-level visualization.
• Ability to interpret AI-generated inputs such as recommendations, confidence scores, prompts, responses, human feedback, escalation data, and agent interaction logs.
• Knowledge of data quality, governance, security, row-level security, and controlled access patterns for BI reporting.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business questions and AI platform activity into clear, actionable reporting experiences.
• Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban environments with product, UX, engineering, and data teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, SQL Server, or similar analytics platforms.
• Experience with Power BI Embedded, Power BI REST APIs, service principals, workspace management, deployment pipelines, or capacity planning.
• Familiarity with AI, GenAI, agentic workflows, LLM-enabled applications, or AI product telemetry.
• Experience designing reports for SaaS platforms, multi-tenant products, internal enterprise platforms, or customer-facing applications.
• Knowledge of accessibility, responsive report design, and UX patterns for embedded analytics.
• Experience creating dashboards that support AI governance, FinOps, adoption monitoring, usage analytics, operational oversight, or model performance tracking.
