Apply for this job

We're looking for an Automotive MCU Product Verification Leader for a global semiconductor company developing automotive MCUs — products held to some of the industry's most stringent quality and design standards, where growing demands for functionality and performance are driving increasing complexity and scale, all against a backdrop of intensifying cost competition.

The department is the HW development division for 32-bit automotive MCUs, responsible for delivering products that satisfy our customers — from product specification design through to mass production shipment. Within this scope, we are looking to introduce efficient and cutting-edge verification methods aimed at achieving zero defects in the critical verification work that ensures logical quality, with the goal of building the world's No. 1 automotive MCU products. Collaboration with well-known automakers is also possible. Let's build the automotive MCUs of the future together!

About the role

We're hiring an Automotive MCU Product Verification Leader to drive a fundamental rethink of how we verify 32-bit automotive MCUs — products where logic quality isn't a checkbox; it's a safety imperative.

In this role, you'll lead Pre-Silicon verification across our MCU product lines — owning schedules, resources, and development costs in line with the product roadmap, and working alongside a global team that spans multiple international locations. Collaboration with major automakers is part of the picture. So is building the verification infrastructure that the next generation of automotive chips will depend on.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Pre-Silicon verification activities for automotive MCU products
  • As the leader of logic verification and emulator verification, plan and execute schedules, resource allocation, and development budgets in line with product development plans

Qualifications

Required
  • Experience in one or more stages of digital product development, from specification review and circuit design through verification, evaluation, and mass production ramp-up
  • Foundational knowledge of digital semiconductor product design, testing, and evaluation
Preferred
  • Experience leading digital semiconductor product development
  • Leadership experience in one or more stages of digital semiconductor development — design, testing, verification, evaluation, or mass production ramp-up (e.g., design lead)

Additional Information

  • Location: Kodaira, Tokyo, Japan
  • Work Model: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
  • Open to relocation: This role is open to candidates located anywhere who are open to relocating to Japan
